Lodge Committees
Committees are the functional basis of Order of the Arrow lodges. Passaconaway runs several committees listed below. Every member of the lodge should be a member of at least one committee. If you are interested in joining a committee please fill out the Committee Interest Form. If you are an adult who would like to advise a committee, you can fill out the form or contact the lodge adviser.
American Indian Affairs Committee & Dance Team
About: The AIA Committee advises the lodge on the proper uses of Native American themes and customs while maintaining relations with our local Native tribe. We aim to educate Arrowmen and scouts in New Hampshire about our rich history and recruit members to take part in a lodge dance team.
Meeting Info: As of right now we do not meet on a regular basis, but communicate through email.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Kate R. – ksrochford426@gmail.com
Committee Advisor (adult): Jane Richardson – janenh4K@comcast.net / Mike Szelog – m.szelog@easternbank.com
Brotherhood Committee
About: Being a part of the Brotherhood Committee means also being the Niemat at Ordeal Weekends. Being a Niemat is the equivalent to being an Elangomat for the Ordeal Candidates but for Brotherhood Candidates instead. They are responsible for guiding the Brotherhood Candidates through the Brotherhood process. The current chairman is going to be aging in the next year so we are looking for a new youth interested in being involved more in the lodge.
Meeting Info: We do not meet on a regular basis, but communicate by text/email leading up to Ordeal Weekends.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Hailey H. – brotherhood.chair@lodge220.org
Committee Advisor (adult): Brian Inyart – Brotherhood.adviser@lodge220.org
Ceremonies Committee
About: The ceremonies team… an acting job without pay or a glorified skit team? Well we here at the ceremonies team are more than both. We represent the presence of the principles of scouting to inspire our new arrowmen and seal their Brotherhood with our order. Join today and help us to welcome our new brothers to our order!
Meeting Info: Meetings are held based on team members availability.

Committee Advisor (adult): JP Kissell – kissell.scouting.bsa@gmail.com
Communications Committee
About: When you go on Instagram and see a post from Passaconaway Lodge, or maybe an email from the lodge is sent out. Chances are that the Communication Committee created that media! Members of this committee are in charge of developing and maintaining the lodge’s social media accounts, supporting chapter communication, promoting events, and communicating general information! So if you are interested in designing posts, writing fun emails, communicating with arrowman, and increasing member participation then this is the committee for you!
Meeting Info: As of right now the committee isn’t having regular meetings, but communicates regularly over text.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Gage H. – communications.chair@lodge220.org
Committee Advisor (adult): Reese Merry – reese.merry@lodge220.org
Elangomats Committee
About: Elangomats are essential to the Ordeal and inductions process of the OA, and without them, we wouldn’t be able to run a program. They are really every arrowman’s first impression with our order, and therefore should be an exemplary member. The Elangomat committee handles the training and selection of elangomats for our ordeals.
Meeting Info: We do not meet on a regular basis, but meet and communicate by text throughout ordeal weekends.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Cason H – elangomat.chair@lodge220.org
Committee Advisor (adult): Chuck McTague – elangomat.adviser@lodge220.org
Activities Committee
About: The Events Committee is essentially your go to people at all lodge events! The members of this committee are here to help out and guide arrowmen, or complete smaller tasks that will ensure the event at hand will run as smoothly as possible. During the Spring Ordeal weekend you may have seen event committee members acting as “service specialists,” or in other words helping out at different service projects, and ensuring the elagomat and clan properly complete the project. If you are interested in giving back to your lodge through helping arrowmen, learning more about the behind the scenes events, and helping every event go to plan, then this committee is perfect for you!
Meeting Info: As of right now the committee isn’t having regular meetings, but will hold online event planning meetings as needed.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Kaden M – activities.chair@lodge220.org
Committee Advisor (adult): Vacant
Inductions Committee
About: The Inductions Committee oversees Ordeal weekends as well as the Brotherhood, Elangomats & Ceremonies Committees to ensure that these weekends run smoothly and successfully. We communicate with other committees, stay in the loop, and are at the forefront of planning and running these weekends.
Meeting Info: We meet as needed over zoom before induction weekends. We communicate over text/email.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Cole E. – inductions.chair@lodge220.org
Committee Advisor (adult): Doug Richard – inductions.adviser@lodge220.org
NOAC Planning Committee
About: The National Order of the Arrow Conference is a national gathering every other year where thousands of Arrowmen around the country meet for five days of training, amazing program, service, world renowned shows and once in a lifetime opportunities! The NOAC Committee plans and coordinates promotion, fundraising, merchandise, patches, documentation, travel plans, itinerary, etc. so that Passaconaway Lodge can have an amazing time at NOAC! NOAC 2024 will be held at the University of Colorado, Boulder, July 29 – August 3rd.

Trading Post Committee
About: Some say it’s like “a retail job you do for free” while this is pretty accurate, there’s more than just selling items. Join the Trading Post Committee and be a part of the people who design, create, and bring to life the items we sell at the Black Bear Trading Post. Join today and help us sell the future.
Meeting Info: Meets on an “as needed” basis and communicates primarily through email.
Contact Us: Committee Chair (youth): Eric A. – eallen3506@yahoo.com
Committee Advisor (adult): vacant
Training Committee
About: Every year our lodge holds numerous training opportunities, namely our Lodge Leadership Development Conference (LLDC). During LLDC, lodge members gather to enhance their skills as leaders. In order for this training to happen, we need trainers, and more importantly, people to organize the trainings they will be presenting. The training committee is responsible for finding the most relevant trainings for the event and searching for volunteers to train them.
Meeting Info: Will meet periodically in the months leading up to training events, mainly over zoom with communication by email and text.
